In a heartwarming moment that beautifully intertwined devotion and nostalgia, actress Shweta Tripathi was recently spotted performing Aarti and Puja at the sacred Ganga Ghat in Benaras during breaks from the shoot of Mirzapur: The Movie. The spiritual experience was an emotional one for Shweta, who shares a deep-rooted and personal bond with the holy city.
Benaras holds a special place in Shweta’s life — it’s where she shot her acclaimed debut film Masaan, and it continues to serve as both a spiritual anchor and creative inspiration. With its divine energy, vibrant culture, and ageless beauty, the city has become a soulful constant in her journey.

Speaking about her enduring connection, Shweta shared, “Benaras… this city keeps calling me back. I’ve been coming here since Masaan. My Nana studied at BHU, my mother wore a Benarasi lehenga for her wedding — in so many ways, this city is woven into my life. Even my trainer, Tridev Pandey, is from here. Mirzapur too has its roots in this region, so Benaras feels like home to my heart. I love the food, the calm pace of life, the kadak kulhad chai, and the warmth of the people. Even the weather seems to welcome us with open arms.”

Reflecting on her Mirzapur journey, she added, “The madness of Mirzapur is real! Fans constantly share pictures and videos from our shoots across Benaras — it feels like our extended family is right here with us. Behind the scenes, there’s so much love, laughter, and joy — that’s what keeps me going every day. With Prime Video and Excel Entertainment coming together again, it truly feels like one big family now.”
As Mirzapur: The Movie gears up for release, Shweta’s spiritual connect with Benaras adds a profound emotional layer to her cinematic journey — a harmonious blend of faith, memories, and gratitude.
