Saiyami Kher, who has always loved the ocean, experienced the magic beneath the surface in 2009 when she took her first breath underwater in Thailand. The actor recently circled back to the Southeast Asian country for a trip and decided to take another dive after a long time. Kher is a certified diver and has dived at various international locations previously such as Lakshadweep, Andaman’s, Thailand, Bali and Turkey.
The actor says, “The first time I went diving it was an experience very difficult to articulate. I never realised how caught up I’ve been in my own world. Being underwater changed something insideme. I realised that on the same planet we inhabit, there’s an entire world that we know nothing of! And that we humans are only tiny little ants in the grand scheme of things. It’s unbelievably humbling. It’s my go to place to destress, to introspect and to come back refreshed. I am very protective of the ocean and it feels very sad to see the ocean polluted. So I try my best to try and protect it.”
