Kavitta Verma, who was seen in movies like Police Giri, Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana, and R… Rajkumar, along with Bejoy Nambiar’s web series Kaala, wrote and published her first poetry book, Tanhaiyon Se Rishte, during the biggest struggle of her life. In five years, she lost everyone whom she could call her family, and as the loneliness lingered, she confided in her poetry the pain of separation and missing the warmth of her family.
“I lost my sister in 2015, my mother in 2017, and after that my father shifted with me in Mumbai. But he had a brain stroke, suffered multiple organ failures, and he too left the world in 2020. So in just five years I became an orphan, had no one to call my family, and on top of that I suffered professional setbacks too,” she said.

“But I realised that I could not let this situation take control over me and resorted to writing my own poetry that, in a way, spoke about the upheavals in my life. That’s why the name is Tanhaiyon Se Rishte,” she added.
Her book came out in 2021, and she was appreciated not just for her writing but also for the depth and pain that was hidden in each word that she conveyed. After receiving a huge response for her first book, Kavitta Verma is ready with her second poetry book, which will give further insight into her life currently.

As the year 2024 comes to an end, Kavitta reflects on her learnings. “I feel that each year I look back and contemplate my lessons and experiences. Every fall comes with a learning; so does every rise. I just want to maintain stillness of mind and move ahead.”
