The prestigious Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth in Pune has recently awarded Ms. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO, Kinetic Green with an Honorary Doctorate, Doctor of Literature for her significant contributions towards the electric mobility revolution in India. Under her leadership, Kinetic Green has empowered not only the urban consumers but has provided mobility solutions to the vast population in rural India, empowering them with a cleaner, greener, and a more cost-effective personal mobility solution. Ms. Motwani’s vision is to democratise sustainable mobility and make it accessible, affordable, and practical for every Indian.
A State Topper and Merit Rank holder throughout her academic career, Ms. Sulajja holds an MBA from the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania, USA. Over the years, she has held several notable positions at The Federation of Indian Chambers Of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV), and Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE). Her academic excellence coupled with her business acumen and exceptional conviction has not resulted in exceptional business outcomes, but she has also positively impacted the lives of numerous young female entrepreneurs and employees by her work, wisdom, and position as a founder of an EV company in a primarily male dominated industry. The doctorate is a testament to her self-belief and transformative approach she has taken to revolutionise the EV industry.
In addition to Ms. Sulajja Firodia Motwani, the doctorate was also awarded to Shri. Ravindra Prabhudesai, Managing Director, Pitambari Products Private Limited and Dr. Mohan Agashe, renowned actor and psychiatrist in the presence of Dr. Deepak J Tilak, President and Chancellor Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth. The Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, named after legendary leader Lokmanya Shri Bal Gangadhar Tilak is committed to nation building and was established to uphold the vision – ‘Education is a tool for empowerment’.
