My City My Voice, India’s third-largest open mic community, completes its four-year journey with more than 115 open mic events across 60 cities in the country, adding a rate feather in its crown. It gives a platform for the rising and established artists who could come and give themselves a space to air their views and build opportunities to network and enhance creatively.

Since its inception in 2017, MCMV has grown exponentially, bringing together over 10,000 members and partnering with more than 100 café spaces across the nation. Spread across 28 states and union territories, MCMV leaves its mark on the cultural fabric of India. The initiative has received recognition from leading media houses, including the Times of India, Hindustan Times, and Red FM.
The events on the platform have not only served as launchpads for budding artists across multiple genres but have also drawn in participation from prominent indie personalities, including Prakash Belawadi, Alex Matthew, and Gaurav Arora, whose voices further established this as a space of collaboration and expression for artists.

Open mic is the platform’s heart and soul, but over time, it has developed into holding workshops, themed events, and collaborations with top brands and media partners. Besides entertainment, MCMV pays attention to emotional well-being and community building, creating a space where these individuals feel safe to voice themselves. With this philosophy in mind, holistic influence has brought about the desired effect on mental health, including creating belongingness and bonding among the participants.
Reflecting on this achievement, Anish Dhar, the founder of My City My Voice exclaimed in immense pride over this journey so far. “We are thrilled to have reached this milestone, empowering diverse voices nationwide. Our mission remains unchanged – providing a platform for authentic expression and creativity,” he said.

In a nutshell, My City My Voice is a platform looking to expand, partnering with more venues, and empowering unheard voices of the country. With this commitment towards the creative arts, the voice of the city that My City My Voice resonates with keeps on gaining an unchallenged place in the Indian culture space, looking forward to many more successful years in the future.
