Apart from being an actor (films Policegiri, Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana), Kavitta Verma has now ventured into writing. Her debut book of Hindi poems, Tanhaiyo Se Rishte, is in stands, and has been receiving positive feedback.
“I am really glad my book of poems, Tanhaiyo Se Rishte, has finally seen the light of the day. I am also very happy to share that it’s now available on Amazon. This book is a compilation of 84 poems that basically are inspired from the raw emotional rollercoaster my life has been and still is,” she says adding a note of thanks for all the support coming her way. Kavitta Verma has always been fond of writing poems. But she never wrote them thinking that they would get published someday.
“These poems are all about my journey. I had no one to share my thoughts or emotions with, and maybe sometimes you just want to be introduced to a medium where you keep expressing yourself without being judged. That’s when I started penning everything within, especially my journey in the last five years, via poetry. I went through a huge change of perspective as far as my personal life is concerned. That also has inspired me to write,” adds the Laali ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana actor.
Talking about the feedback the book has been getting, she says, “The book is just published and it’s too early to say of the response. I only have gratitude that I could do it, that I could give tribute to my deceased parents and sister.”
Sharing the kind of books she reads, Kavitta Verma also reveals her intention of writing a novel someday. “I feel Hindi poetry is immensely rich. I have read William Wordsworth and Mahadevi Verma both. I am not planning any other book right now but I intend to write a novel someday. I am a person who can read anything that sustains my attention. I love to read about life experiences, relationships and human bonds. Philosophy is also something that interests me,” she adds.
