Singer Rina Charaniya, known as Rii, believes that the music industry is teeming with budding talents, but not all of them have developed their own distinctive style. She points out that many artists are simply trying to emulate popular musicians instead of forging their unique path.
A Preference for Authenticity
Expressing her viewpoint, Rina Charaniya states, “Honestly, there are artists who’ve been making authentic music, and there are some trying to be like other artists. I prefer listening and following the journey of those who are true to their art and identity. I dislike those who try to be like Drake, Sidhu, Moose Wala, or Beyoncé. I would wish that the industry is empowered by its local talent and not by copying the west. After all, we have some amazing success stories of musicians and singers doing really great worldwide. Artists that are identifying themselves to the west are for me not real artists by themselves.”

A Roller Coaster Journey
Reflecting on her own journey, Rina Charaniya describes it as an emotional roller coaster. She acknowledges that she has had to forgive and forget many things to stay positive. However, she remains optimistic about her progress in the music industry. She has released several beautiful songs like “Judaa,” “Phir Mulaqaat,” “Baatein,” “Uski Adha Chaand,” and “Silly.” Moreover, she has plans to release more music soon, with a focus on collaborations.
Self-Taught Talent
In terms of her musical training, Rina Charaniya is entirely self-taught. She didn’t have the privilege of formal training early in her singing career. Instead, she learned by watching tutorials on platforms like YouTube and by listening to some of the greatest artists. This approach has allowed her to develop her unique style and sound.

Future Aspirations
Rii’s upcoming music is all about authenticity. She believes that good classical instruments will always have an authentic appeal. While acknowledging the popularity of club music among the youth, Rina Charaniya emphasizes that her focus is on creating beautiful songs. She is currently working on her first album, fully aware of the challenges in the music industry. However, her primary goal is to bring happiness through her music, even if it’s just to one person a day. Her pursuit remains dedicated to crafting beautiful, authentic songs that resonate with her audience.
