Dr. Nandita Palshetkar – President (FOGSI) Federation of Obstetric & Gynecological Societies of India “Congratulations to Sunita Dube , I think 13 years is a long time and she has done this wonderful job of save the girl child and this year’s slogan of Save the girl child from womb to tomb really accomplishes the entire life cycle of a women. It is a fantastic thought process because we as women are care givers and as obstetrician & Gynecologists I have realized that it from the womb that we have to achieve first to survive and then accomplish the rest. Unfortunately Women have been always treated as second class citizens, while they are supposed to sacrifice everything from eating less and keep for the family and never take our health as priority, which certainly needs to be addressed.
Dr. M L Sharaf said, “I am very happy to be associated with Dr. Sunita Dube right from the time of the inception of MedscapeIndia’s Save the Girl Child Movement. Today it’s the 13th year and we are very proud to have the Awards trophy for this year unveiled by non-other than the Honourable Governor of Maharashtra who gave us very encouraging words. We all believe in saving the girl child but hearing it from a veteran like him. I wish MedscapeIndia all the very best for the future.”
